This was a very solid body-- it's
only redeeming feature beside
being 4WD.  Learned the vacuum
lines were altered (and messed up)
allowing motor to run lean. Figured
they ran it dry w/a cooling system
problem. They replaced the cooling
system & found out damage was
internal-
 Cylinder #5 does not
compress.  Crankcase pressure so
excessive as to blow PCV out like
champagne cork (cracked
rings).That's why it was
stripped&left for dead.  Repaired
vacuum, tuned up-- now runs
somewhat reliably, still waiting to
replace motor.  Various repairs
done for free with either just TLC or
hardware left over from a '96
Chrysler-- gotta love Torx...NOT!
An $850 Total investment into a $600 Jeep = $1450 Not-so Junky
Jeep...supposedly now worth about $2500.
